Self-prevention
Health and safety in the workplace is a key priority for Altamira Constructora. We have our own health and safety department, which works closely with an external health and safety consultancy.
Third-party prevention
The external health and safety service assists in drawing up the necessary risk assessments and safety plans for the construction site, as well as providing support and acting as a specialist consultant to the in-house health and safety department.
Responsibilities of the Occupational Health and Safety Department
The main role of the Occupational Health and Safety Department is to ensure that employees and contractors comply with current regulations, both on construction sites and at our premises, by carrying out the following tasks, amongst others:
Site supervision
Regular safety inspections to check conditions and make immediate repairs.
Monitoring and control
Preparation of safety reports to identify risks at an early stage.
Document management
Management of employment and health and safety documentation via a dedicated platform.
Internal regulations
Development and monitoring of compliance with internal safety standards.
On-site training
Ongoing training for employees and operatives of subcontracting firms.
Technical training
Site managers and supervisors with formal training and a basic level of occupational health and safety.
Health and Safety
Altamira’s commitment to health and safety is reflected in the establishment of its own occupational health and safety service and in an occupational risk prevention policy that is fully integrated into our day-to-day operations.
Altamira is responsible for ensuring that its staff receive training and are provided with appropriate and adequate safety equipment at its construction sites, in accordance with current legal regulations and taking into account the specific characteristics of the site, and for doing so efficiently.
